Ms. Indira Jaising, the first lady to be designated as Senior Advocate by the Bombay High Court in 1986. She was awarded the Padma Shree in 2005 and in the year 2009, she was also the first lady to hold the office of the Additional Solicitor General of India. Ms. Jaising has argued some of India's most underlying cases in the areas of gender justice, non-discrimination, healthcare, labour rights, sexual harassment, free speech and human rights.
